Launching ‘All the Fun’ - the opening track from the new Steel City Sue album (launching July 2026) with guest harmony vocals by Gabrielle Newland.
The show will also preview new songs from upcoming album The Red Zone as well as old Steel City Sue favourites.
The Steel City Sue trio of multi-instrumentalists features the magnificent musicianship of Naomi Jones (Midnight Chicken) and Tim Merrikin (Hunter Valley Ramblers) swapping out twin fiddles, old time banjo, guitar plus Cajun accordion, double bass and loads of harmonies.
‘All the Fun’ is a drifty contemplation on what we had while the vice of tech, banking and climate change bares down upon us. The luxury of frivolity!
Gabrielle Newland
The show will open with Gabrielle Newland – a stunning vocalist, guitarist, and mountain dulcimer player based in Newcastle. Heavily influenced by Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, and Jean Ritchie, she plays a variety of covers and instrumental folk tunes from around the world. Gabrielle is also a proud member and Secretary of the award-winning Newcastle Chamber Choir.
